A Prospering Society
Modern Living Room of the Time
The industrialization of the 1800s was beginning to offer real rewards to residents of towns. Workers saw their income rise by 11%. Workers bought the products they produced with more than just enough money to live on. More necessities and luxuries became more available, which increased people's standard of living. They bought most goods with credit, so they could pay it off later. The middle class began to grow and become richer.
The automobile began to help Americans get away from their troubles and hit the road. Vacations, visiting family, and new job opportunities began to happen more frequently. Cars were cheap too. You could get your new car for less than 300 dollars. Tourist attractions began to pop up everywhere, as your economy began to grow better and stronger.
